Trios Format
Trios this year will consist of two stages; group play and the knock-out round
This is similar to the format used in the FIFA World Cup
There will be a total 31 matches
(24 in group play and 7 in the knock-out round)
Each team will be guaranteed 3 matches
Group Play
4 Groups (A, B, C, D)
Each Group has 4 teams (Ranked from 1 to 4)
Rankings of teams will be set at the beginning and remain the same though group play (ranking used to determine who goes first etc.)
All teams within a group will play each other (Total 6 Matches)
For all groups there will be a total of 24 matches
All matches will be regular 3 round matches
No sudden death in effect. Matches can end in a tie.
Group Play (Points)
Points will be awarded based on the following:
Knock Out – 4 Points
Technical Knock-Out – 3 Points
Regulation Win – 2 Points
Tie – 1 Point each
Loss – 0 Points
Advancing to Knock-Out Round
Top two teams in each group will advance to the Knock-Out round
In case of a tie at the end of group play, the following stats will be considered

Total Match Points Scored
Head-to-head record
Coin Toss
Knock-Out Round Format
Sudden death rules in effect for all Knock Out matches
Total of 7 matches (4 Quarter Finals, 2 Semi Finals, 1 Final)
Unlike the world cup we will not have a play off for third place
Quarter and Semi Finals will be regular three round matches
Final match will be 5 rounds (Championship Rules)
For quarter finals, winners will outrank runners up (no matter what the record)
For semi finals and finals, rankings will be based on record (same tie rules apply as in group round)
