Kirk Kowalkowski
Last year:
Went 0-1 in singles and 1-1 in teams
This year:
Won 3 matches in a row in singles (which he hadn't done since the 2020 season) and was one win away from a #1 contenders match. He started the year with a negative record, and ended with a positive one.
Javi Madan
Last year:

Dean Manness
Last year:

Erick Moreno
Last year:
1-3 in singles (before record reset)
This year:
Went 1-1 in singles with two very strong performances, but really shined in teams where he challenged for a title with his teammate Rajko Krminac.
Amaru Moses beats Payson Johnson
Payson was coming off of a win against Jeremy Adams (the reigning champion at the time of this match) and was concidered a favourite to win the tournament. He challenged Amaru in round one and Amaru got the job done.
Blame Canada Beats Light Cameron Action
Many expected the super-team of singles champions Cameron Holzmann and Cameron Redshaw to make easy work of the newcomers Rajko Krminac and Erick Moreno. To their surprise, the newcomers won convincingly in every round despite spinning opponents choice and LCA spinning spinners choice.
Brethren Court beats Grumpy Old Men
When the trios teams were announced, everyone assumed that the team of Jeremy Adams, Brian Michaels, and Tony Durso would be unbeatable. Then, in the very first round of the tournament, they were defeated by the team of Jake Meltzer, Kaleb Koho, and Joe Farrelly.
Sexual Chocolate beats Wyld Stallyns
Sexual Chocolate had an impressive run at Turmoil surviving 7 rounds earning a spot in the #1 contenders match against the last team standing and one of the best teams of all time Wyld Stallyns. It seemed like the odds were stacked against them in that match, and yet they got it done.
Tim Brzakala beats Mathew Chen
While Tim was coming off of an impressive KO against Nick Carley, it was generally expected that Matthew Chen would be the one to get the victory considering his last 3 losses were in #1 contenders matches against former/future champions.
